A.I.M. (Approachable, Innovative, Motivating)
A.I.M. is a new device to be used during PE classes and stands for Approachable Interactive and Motivating. A.I.M. tackles the less positive feeling of a bench by adding a playful feel, the feel of the mat, as the wooden seat is replaced by a mat.
Due to our vision, we wanted to design a bench which allows children to play freely which is why we added side panels. These panels are attached to the seat and can be opened in order to expand the surface. A.I.M. can be used in three different positions. We integrated touch sensors and LEDs in the surface. These electronics allow the user to play games with A.I.M., games that motivate different sports characters in order to prevent social exclusion.

Touch sensors and LEDs allow children with different sports characters to play games on A.I.M. and collaborate in order to achieve a goal. This project was executed by five second year students of Industrial Design at Eindhoven University of Technology over a span of 13 weeks, with the help of experts within the physical education.

Great execution of the idea but i have difficulty to understand what drove the shape of the a. i. m. Maybe a more modular design would increase the possibilities of use.
